The Ethereal Loft Conversion

An exciting brief to create a bright airy tranquil guest bedroom and ensuite from a space that was originally split down the middle by a dividing wall. The first task was to remove said wall, and build in a home for the ensuite in the back corner of the room, exposing the lovely long bank of windows and opening the space up beautifully.

Using a soft colour palette of powder blue, shadow grey, bright white, brass and walnut, the aim was to create a sense of calm and encapsulate a soft airy quality. Bright white and light blue walls provide a clean, crisp backdrop to layer on the elements of brass, marble, walnut and white voile.

When sourcing artwork for this bedroom, I was looking for something that had a delicate romantic quality. There was something about, the Paris based artist, Fredric Forest’s faceless figure line drawings and the soft honest attitude in the gestures that captured a quiet energy, perfect for this peaceful tranquil bedroom.
